Welcome to our Guestbook - affectionately known as
The Lamp Post.

Feel free to leave some messages for us, and each other, here. In other words, take a moment to tell us a little bit about yourselves & your dogs.

Small print ;-)

The book is moderated to protect you (and us) against spam, adverts and malicious comments, so your entry may take a few hours to appear on the site - we are sure that you'll understand. Also, if your message is construed to be offensive or unrelated to EGLR and rescue dogs
(in other words "off topic"), it is unlikely to be published.

In other words, no 'babies' and no 'recipes' (unless it's for dog biscuits, or shortbread) ...
p.s. Pip got stuck using the Lamp Post, so we've got some help for you here.

Louisa,Lee and family: Coco...!

Hello,

Just a  message from Coco who we collected from Lovely foster Mum and Dad Rachel and Adie last weekend.

Woof!! I am settling in well with my new family here in Norfolk,i am already best friends with Rosie a Rescue Grey from Kerry and i am getting to know Bill and George two rescue cats, they are still very young and like to run around which makes me want to chase them but i am learning that this is sometimes not the best thing to do as i get hissed at!

I have made very good friends with Lily who is 5 and her brother Will who is 15,he even lets me watch him on the x box!

I have been carried down to the river which is very near to where i live,i enjoyed watching all the boats and saw some really weird things called ducks and geese,i had lots of attention from other humans which i liked and my Mum says i am gorgeous and have to get used to it.

My Dad says that i am a wee and poo machine but that i am trying very hard to get it where it should go.

I have a huge friend called Hugo who is a blue rescue grey from Kerry and his Mum comes and spends time with me in the mornings when my Mum is at work.

I have lots of toys and love dragging trainers round the house.

When Mum has worked it out she will send you some pics.

She says Thank You for giving her such a lovely pup x

Woof soon,

Love Coco x

And Louisa and Lee xSmile

Pete and Deb: Mango

Sorry to post such sad news but we wanted to let you know that Mango has passed away.  The poor boy couldn't find his brakes running in the field and ended up in a drainage ditch. Although he survived this he had a thrombosis today and died instantly.  We gave him his forever home from EGLR about 5 years ago and he's been a joy ever since.  We are totally devastated but at least know that for the last years of his life he was loved and we were lucky to have him.

Beccy and Kizzy: Paws in the park cheltenham

Would Just like to say that it was lovely to catch up with the EGLR team at the weekend my boy Ryan was really taken with Linda's Masie such a gentle loving & relaxed soul.

Poppy was wonderfully well behaved with the above annoying child & seemed to take everything in her stride someone is going to be very lucky

all the other bounds were so wonderfully well behaved & a pleasure to be around aswell. well except my Kizzy who decided that hiding in other people's cars was better than facing the world & in her odd behaviour I managed to forget to give you the envelope of cash in my handbag will arrange for it to get to you another way

Ade and Cheryl: Storm doing well

What a joy she is to have, if ever there was a perfect dog she is it, apart from the regular fox mess rolling of course!  She loves our dog Domino now 14yrs but still full of life.  She especially enjoys the weekends when her mates come round, Barney the Springer, Dill the Terrier Cross and Max the Black Lab.  Days spent on the sofa or sunbathing in the garden and nights on the bed, it's getting a little crowded, but hey we can always buy another bed, so room for one more Pip!!!  She loves the common where we live, chasing rabbits, but never quite catching one (thank god, my husbands a veggie!).  Dom enjoys swimming so we took them to the local brook last week and not to be left out she followed us in for a paddle and quite enjoyed it.  She is looking really good, nearly to perfect weight, weigh in at vets this week to confirm.  Will send some photos.

Love the Matthews Family. XXX

Helen: Tara

Hi Everyone, I'm sorry to have to tell you all that we had to have Tara the Sponsor Dog put to sleep this morning. She has been a force in our lives for such a long time that she has left a massive hole. Our Dobermann Henry sat with his head hanging off the sofa for an hour, really upset. We'll miss her terribly but the time had come to help her over Rainbow Bridge where Paddy, Jess and Maurice were waiting for her. Lots of love Tara, you'll always be in our thoughts. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Lucky: Hi

Hi, Lucky here Smile.  I just wanted to let you know that I am settling in nicely with my new pack.  They are all very tolerant to a boisterous puppy, although I have been gently put in my place a couple of times and I am continuing to learn my boundaries.  The whippet, Millicent, is now thawing out, thank goodness, having spent yesterday glaring at me, and actually decided she wanted to play with me this morning so we had great fun haring around the kitchen dodging the two-legs and trying not to bounce on the other dogs Laughing.

I had a lovely time at my foster home and my new two-legs say thank you very much to my foster parents for doing such a good job of teaching me some manners, and for housetraining me so well over the last two weeks.

I had my second lot of vaccs this morning and I am looking forward to being allowed out with the big dogs in the not too distant future.

Thank you EGLR for rescuing me Smile.  I look forward to sending you updates on my progress in the future.

Merry Christmas everyone!  Lots of love from Lucky and her new family xx
