Welcome to our Guestbook - affectionately known as
The Lamp Post.

Feel free to leave some messages for us, and each other, here. In other words, take a moment to tell us a little bit about yourselves & your dogs.

Small print ;-)

The book is moderated to protect you (and us) against spam, adverts and malicious comments, so your entry may take a few hours to appear on the site - we are sure that you'll understand. Also, if your message is construed to be offensive or unrelated to EGLR and rescue dogs
(in other words "off topic"), it is unlikely to be published.

In other words, no 'babies' and no 'recipes' (unless it's for dog biscuits, or shortbread) ...
p.s. Pip got stuck using the Lamp Post, so we've got some help for you here.

Guest: Merry Christmas

Hello this is Pip and Bobby to say that after some 4 years or more, we are still going strong. Still enjoying life with our human family. We are walked each and every day and we have so many canine friends here in town. We are looking forward to the festive holiday as we get to spend more time with our cousin, Lassie, she even brings us presents. Anyway we just want to wish all you wonderful people at EGLR a very Happy Christmas and to all those dogs in your care, we hope that you find you forever homes very soon, all we can say is that it will be worth the wait. Lots of licks and tailwags, Pip and Bobby xx

Guest: lulu stevens

I am sorry to hear that Sparky is back with you. I first met Sparky a couple of years ago in Salisbury. Pip bought him to a training class that I was at with my beautiful lurcher Holly. He is gorgeous and I fell for him there and then. But my other half is persistent in his NO NO NO!!!

I have donated through Paypal - sooooo easy.

Clare Jems foster mum: Jem

Ok  I really don't understand why Jem is still with me, she is such an easy dog!  Pip only sent her to us because she was unsure of the medical condition of her, she's the he/she mentioned on the home page a few weeks ago.  All that is sorted now, she was completely normal and is now spayed, micro-chipped and vaccinated.

Jem has just been away with us for the weekend, we visited friends who own a riding stables, she was fantastic, not at all bothered by the horses.  There are 4 dogs at the stables and she mixed well with 3 of them, we know from past attempts that Simba doesn't take kindly to visitors.  Her favourite was probably Kipper, a 2 year old white German Shepard, they had a good game of chase out in the field.

Jem would really love a forever home for her birthday in a couple of weeks.

Newshound: Poorly Pip

Hi all,

I know we only announced it last week but unfortunately there won't be a blog this week because Pip has been really poorly with a nasty chest infection and has hardly been able to get out of bed! I hope you'll all join me in wishing her well and look forward to a double blog next week

Clare: Jem

Just thought I drop a note to say our Jem is still looking for her forever home, she is a lovely dog, easy to have around in all ways.  She has had quite a bit of interest but things seem to go wrong at the last minute for her.  I really can't fault this dog, if it wasn't for all the others that need to be rescued I would keep her, but then I wouldn't be able to foster anymore.  So come on give us a call and ask about our lovely girl.

Newshound: New weekly EGLR blog

As many of you will have noticed every so often Pip writes a little piece for the home page keeping you all up to date on what has been going on around here. Well we have finally managed to convince her to do a little update every week (Well, it's Pip and she could talk for England so it probably won't be a little update!!).

Karen: Our visit to Nalah

Well, she's just perfect. Our Kiki got on really well with her and we thought she was just lovely. She's very affectionate and playful but also calm and cuddly. We've now reserved her and willl be picking her up and bringing her to her own forever home in a weeks time after we return from our holiday in Scotland. Kiki will be a very proud big sister.

Abby: BRYN

May I just say how overjoyed we are that Bryn has found his forever home - from what I can gather in the Forest :) I am so glad he has finally found the right home, and we wish him all the best for the future as he was such a lovely boy when he came to stay. Clare must be so happy, and yet I am sure that there is a temporary hole left - soon to be filled by the next foster dog no doubt. Well done to all of you for persevering. I'll take down the flyers I did for him at the vets etc. So so very happy, well done!!! xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

PS we have found a Saluki X for adoption at the Cheltenham Animal Shelter where I volunteer, a lovely submissive boy called Trigger, just what we were looking for - and the boys love him to bits. We hope to pick him up this weekend, but will not stop us from spreading the word about your organisation and all the good you do - keep up the good work!

Guest: Tara & Bryn

Hi Helen, thank you so much for giving me the update on Tara-really happy it's such good news (named donation now on way). I have a very old girl myself who has done something very similar with me. Was at death's door last June and the vet actually called me in to say goodbye, then she made nothing short of a miraculous recovery and, amazingly we've now had her for an additional year for which we feel extremely blessed (and extremely grateful to our wonderful vet-my unsung hero!) I would have been happy with any extra time so this has been a huge bonus. Also fantastic news about Bryn whose ups and downs I've been following avidly - 3 dogs in the house  and a husband threatening divorce if another appears or I would have rung up about him! Great to hear such good news from you all (and sincerest sympathies for those for whom things haven't been so great). Think you all do a great job up there.Smile Sara
