The Lamp Post
Phoca Guestbook
Welcome to our Guestbook - affectionately known as
The Lamp Post.

Feel free to leave some messages for us, and each other, here. In other words, take a moment to tell us a little bit about yourselves & your dogs.

Small print ;-)

The book is moderated to protect you (and us) against spam, adverts and malicious comments, so your entry may take a few hours to appear on the site - we are sure that you'll understand. Also, if your message is construed to be offensive or unrelated to EGLR and rescue dogs
(in other words "off topic"), it is unlikely to be published.

In other words, no 'babies' and no 'recipes' (unless it's for dog biscuits, or shortbread) ...
p.s. Pip got stuck using the Lamp Post, so we've got some help for you here.

We are thrilled to tell you how Poppy (formerly Tiger-Lilly) is getting on. She is now quite large, a real gentle giant, and an absolute joy to have. Just one problem - the habit of 'sniffing the crutch'! This is very annoying and embarassing when visitors come. Any ideas? Help!

To Rosie - if you look on the RSPCA website for the Exeter branch, you will see some Lurcher puppies looking for homes. Their mother Slinky, who appears to be a wonderful dog, is also on there. Let us know how you get on.

I have been monitoring this site for at least two years as I would dearly like to have a 'hairy' Lurcher but my circumstances do not allow. However it is such a joy to see some of the Lurchers appearing for many weeks and months on the website finding homes - this week Bobbie and Alfie, and latterly Kendra. Keep up the good work and one day I hope to give a home to one of your dogs.

So pleased to see that Bobby and Alfie have a forever home - hope all goes well for them. Our old girl is doing better slowly but still no reason as to why she is so poorly but she is a fighter so I'm sure we'll make it through. Happy New Year.

Hi Rosie from Devon. Try http://www.grwe.co.uk or the Greyhound Sanctuary, North Devon. Both work locally to you and regularly have Lurchers including pups available.

Happy New Year to you all. The EGLR guestbook is now one year old so to ensure the website continues to run at a reasonable speed, the 300+ entries from 2007 have now been archived (but are available on request). We thank you for your continued support and participation.
