Phoca Guestbook
Welcome to our Guestbook - affectionately known as
The Lamp Post.

Feel free to leave some messages for us, and each other, here. In other words, take a moment to tell us a little bit about yourselves & your dogs.

Small print ;-)

The book is moderated to protect you (and us) against spam, adverts and malicious comments, so your entry may take a few hours to appear on the site - we are sure that you'll understand. Also, if your message is construed to be offensive or unrelated to EGLR and rescue dogs
(in other words "off topic"), it is unlikely to be published.

In other words, no 'babies' and no 'recipes' (unless it's for dog biscuits, or shortbread) ...
p.s. Pip got stuck using the Lamp Post, so we've got some help for you here.

Clare: Bryn

Hi Bec, that brought a tear to my eye!!  and me the big tough one who has just let a dog go after 15 months!  I'm glad I have Zoe (Snowy) as she is taking my mind off missing the big oaff!.  She's a sweetheart who just needs a bit of TLC and a lot of grub!!  I'll do Scooby's card and try to drop it by on Saturday, if not I'll leave it with Mum to give it to Tracey at dog training.  Hope all is well.

Beccy Stephens and Kizzy: For Foster Parents

Found this & thought it would be nice to share with other foster parents

I am the bridge between what was and what can be.I am the pathway to a new life.I am made of mush because my heart melted when I saw youmatted and sore, limping, depressed, lonely, unwanted, afraid to love. For one little time you are mine. I will feed you with my own hand.I will love you with my whole heart, I will make you whole.I am made of steelBecause when the time comes,When you are well and sleek,When your eyes shine,And your tail wags with joy -Then comes the hard part.I will let you go - not without a tear, but without a regret. For you are safe forever.A new dog needs me now.

Karen from S. Wales: A visit to Pips

It was great to meet all the dogs at Pip's yesterday on delivering one of the lastest additions to the household (called Summer - I'm sure there'll be an update on her soon).

It was particularly nice to see Taffy looking so well considering what he looked like when I transported him up to Pip about 3 months ago. He's a smashing lad and it's great to hear that he's going to a lovely forever home of his own next week.

It was also great to meet the timid little Flybee, the gentle sleepy little girl Ariel and the very active very georgous Susie.

Fingers crossed for Summer's future and i look forward to hearing about her progress.

Gil and Steve near Malvern: Gyp, our Princess

Dear Pip, Linda, Claire, Ladies from Tewkesbury,Steve and I just wanted to let everyone who knew her that Gyp passed away late on Sunday night, aged 14 and a half (and 4 days!).  She had graced us with her presence for 3 years and had enjoyed a brilliant last weekend, skipping round all the tables at the pig roast and eating all the pigs' ears.  I am sure she is charming everyone over the Rainbow Bridge, just as she always did here, be it at the pub, in the garden, on the common or in the stream (her favourite place).  We are so grateful we were allowed to be her servants.  She was our princess and we will never forget her.  Love Gil and Steve, Welland, near Malvern

Clare: Flybee

Hi Lulu  Flybee is fit and well, she lives with Pip and is very settled there.  My mum recently adopted Minnie Mouse and the two of them were very happily racing up and down the garden like a pair of idiots!  I think it has been difficult to find someone who is willing to give their time to organise the sponsor dogs page.

Guest: praise for your work

I've been looking for a whippet/lurcher for the past couple of weeks. My own beautiful rescue dog of sixteen died recently and in my tentative search for another dog I came across your site.  I think it's brilliant - the clearest and most welcoming website I've seen and all my contact with those of you I've spoken to and met  has been fantastic.  It gives me so much heart to know of the love and time you put in for dogs who've been at the worse end of human treatment. To know they're cared for so wonderfully as they wait for permanent homes, and that they're likely to spend years of happiness ahead is wonderful. Discovering there are people out there like you - especially you who keep this great website going and who probably don't get much acknowlegement - is such a lift. All strength to you xxx

lulu stevens: flybe mouse

Hi quite a while ago I asked after flybe mouse and the reply was that the sponsor page was being up-dated, but there is still no sign of her. Is she okay? Happy? Well?

Guest: Re: Tara

Hi, This is to the person who asked about Tara the Sponsor Dog.... Yes incredibly she is still with us :-) We had a big scare about 18 months ago when she went off her back legs. Investigations showed that she had a complete abdominal aortic block - the big artery that runs through yr stomach to the lower body. However dogs can build collateral circulation, and although at the time we were told we may only have her for another 3 mths......she seems to be proving to us yet again that she is nothing short of a medical marvel and is still walking!!! She's going on short walks, bosses our HUGE Dobermann around when he's out of line, eats an amazing amount of food and frequently tells visitors SHE's the one in charge  not her mum n dad!!! Her mind seems to wander a little more as the months go past and her favourite pastime this summer seems to be standing at the top of the garden watching the world go by. She's a happy lady, a little worn around the edges but still hanging in there.

Cheers, Helen, Dave, Tara (whose sending special kisses) and the Zoo. xxxxxxxx

Clare: Bryn

Hi all,  Bryn had a good day at the 3 counties, he was very well behaved, only occasionally having a mad barking fit at the birds of prey opposite our stand!  He was very good and allowed numberous children to cuddle him, and of course gave loads of doggy kisses to everyone he met!  He was so exhausted when we got home he barely moved from his favourite chair.
