Update Dec 2019
Fred is a fun loving, snuggly, fluffy goon!! Despite his arthritis he is a typical 2 year old dog. Not so keen on toys, but loves other dogs, sofas and snuggling He will need a home who can be strict with him about resting when he needs to (because he wants to play on regardless of how much his legs hurt and will run himself lame!!). He is 27″ to the shoulder so is a big strong lad, he is great with other dogs but pulls towards them when he’s on a lead because he wants to play. Otherwise brilliant on a lead and loves a good walk/sniff around the village. He especially loves the school run where he is met with hoards of adoring fans as they pile out of school.
He has a typically high prey drive for a lurcher who appears to have been worked, and will chase anything small and furry. He is muzzle trained and very happy walking with a box muzzle but it is unlikely he will ever be a dog you can let run free, so would benefit from access to a large enclosed area for exercise.
He is a bit of a loud mouth and likes to bark at anything and everything that passes by his perimeter fence, so would need a home where its not too busy or with understanding neighbours.
New lad Fred arrived last Thursday. He’s only 2 or 3 years old, riddled with arthritis, covered in scars and arrived in a lot of pain. Despite this he’s a great big goofy teddy bear who enjoys howling, destroying bean bags, scritches and being gently bullied by a small elderly JRT and a saluki cross puppy.
