Good News

With all the worrying news about Star we are delighted to be able to report some wonderful news about Booboo.

Many of you will remember the poor emaciated dog that came into EGLR a couple of months ago with terrible mange and virtually no fur. Well here she is today, looking very very healthy, what a different dog.Booboo7

We would like to send our heart felt thanks to everyone who made donations of money, food and bedding for Booboo's care. Without your generosity and kindness we simply could not give these dogs new lives.

The even better news for Booboo is that she has found a forever home and she is moving in very soon and will have lots of doggy friends to play with. What a fantastic end to her time with EGLR but it is really the start of her new life of happiness. We wish her well!!

News about Star

On Thursday evening Star was given only a 5% chance of making it through the night but we are happy to say that she is still with us and fighting. She still has a very long way to go and is still very very ill so we are taking it literally hour by hour, she is being fed very small amounts of food at every hour and is being nursed 24 hours by the vet team. It is still very early days but is receiving the best possible care.

Everyone at EGLR has been deeply touched by the sheer volume of messages of support and donations that we have received towards Stars care. We would like to take this opportunity to thank you all and can assure that all donations will be going towards helping little Star pull through.

We will of course keep you updated on her progress as soon as we have any news, so please keep an eye on the website or our Facebook page for more information.

StarThis poor little thing is called Star she is only 18 months old and is a whippet cross lurcher and although we are bursting at the seams with dogs Pip has managed to find a place to squeeze her in with us. Just because she is now safe the future is not looking completely rosy for her as she needs 24/7 vet care for the next few days and we are not sure if she will make it.
EGLR Sponsored Walk

Please come along and support the first EGLR Sponsored Walk, to take place on Sunday 27th March 2011 at Wallbridge, Stroud. It will cover a gentle three and a half mile course, starting at 10.00 from  Clockhouse Vets, parking will be available at Cheapside Car Park, Stroud.

Entry is just £3.00, children and dogs go free!

To download a sponsorship form click on the link, Sponsorship Form. For more information you can download the poster here so you could also encourage your dog walking frineds to come along too.

Go on, we all take our woofs for a good long trot on a Sunday morning so why not come along, meet some like minded friends and raise a bit of money in the process to help care for some very needy dogs we have in our care.

We have just taken in 5 new dogs with 3 more arriving on Friday, they have all come from the pound and were in  imminent danger of being put to sleep unless we had stepped in. This is stretching our foster homes to bursting point, so we are in desperate need of more foster homes.
