HELP PLEASE

Big ask for help from all of you, could you choose one of our dogs looking for there forever home and post anywhere you can to all your friends and family and ask them to share as well, I am sorry to say we have three dogs going into kennels because we have no foster homes free and two lurchers were put to sleep because we couldn't take them in.

Thank You

Another new arrival

neglectAnother case of terrible neglect finds her way to the safety of EGLR, this poor soul has spent a week in the vets on a drip, with regular small meals she has gained some weight back and has been released into our care, so she is spending her first night in a warm foster home surround with love. We have called her Jamilah.

We will keep you update on her progress.

Good News

Evie2 Fantastic news Evie has been reserved! She would like to thank everybody who shared her picture on Facebook, posted lovely comments and phoned Aunty Pip or Aunty Linda. There are lots more lovely dogs waiting for their forever home, so please give Pip or Linda a call. Thank you again.

Very Sad News

We are very sad to announce the passing of Rebecca Rea or as many of us knew her, as Becky (Becky from Birmingham). Becky was a fosterer, transporter and a loyal supporter of EGLR and joined us shortly after adopting her lurcher called Filch 7 years ago and decided she wanted to help more dogs like him because she always had a soft spot for the long nose variety dogs, owning many of them over the years.

Becky was the type of person that you could always call on in times of an emergency and was always willing to assist anyone, four legged or two, that needed help. She was willing to drive all over the country to fetch a dog in distress and always dragged one of her 3 sons along for the ride.

Over the years Becky fostered many dogs, from young dogs to the elderly (and some of them were very naughty!) but Becky never moaned or complained. All she wanted was to look after them and find them the best home possible.

Her family have very generously and kindly requested that donations to be made to EGLR instead of flowers at her funeral.

Becky leaves behind her husband Dan, her 3 sons Will, Sean and Ed and her 2 EGLR dogs Bear and Filch. Our thoughts are with them at this sad time.

Happy Christmas

Everyone at EGLR would like to take this opportunity to wish all our friends and supporters a Very Happy Christmas, and thank you for your continued support. We have had a very busy year in 2013 and are happy to say we have been able to nurse back to health and re home a great many dogs that have come into our care. Without your continued help and support we would simply not be able to do the work we do so would also like to say a very big thank you to you all.

We have no doubt that if you check in here on our website or follow us on Facebook you will have seen recently that despite it being Christmas the influx of new dogs has in no way slowed down and there are still many dogs hoping that Santa Paws will bring a forever home for them. With the volume of dogs we currrently have we need your support more than ever and would like to put out a plea for any help you may be able to offer at this time. We are currently in great need of food, both puppy and adult, bedding is also in short supply and of course cash to help with our vets bill is always very welcome.

Any help or donation you may be able to send us would be so very gratefully received and will go directly towards looking after the dogs in our care.

THANK YOU AND MERRY CHRISTMAS FROM EGLR.
