(A Slightly Chewed Website)
Fairy arrived with us as a unwanted stray, she was suffering from a very badly broken rear leg, we arranged for her to be seen by a vet immediately and she was booked for surgery the next day. She would require a complex operation which would involve fixing the leg with a plate and pins.
Unfortunately the vet soon realized that the bones would not tolerate the plates and pins and the operation would not be successful so a sad decision was made that the leg would have to be amputated.
Fairy died twice on the operating table but with thanks to the skill of the veterinary team they managed to get her back and through the surgery.
We really thought that this 4 1/2 month old pup had been through enough and if she would have been a cat she would have used up quite a few of her 9 lives.
But there was one more hurdle for this special girl to over come just 24 hours after surviving major surgery she was struck down with the deadly parvovirus. Fairy chances of survival were very slim we feared that this tiny girl wouldn't have the strength to get through, but we are 5 days into her illness and she is holding her own, we don't know where she is getting her strength from but this little pup must have the biggest will to live, so please keep this special girl in your thought and we will update you soon on her progress.
