Meet Autumn

Autumn Poor Autumn, only 4 months old and already is very lucky to be with us. Before she arrived with us she suffered a broken leg which then got infected, sadly there was nothing the vets could do and we were left with no choice but to amputate her rear leg. Autumn is doing well on her 3 legs and is learning to get around. She is on antibiotics for a minimum of 3 weeks due to the infection in her bones. She has not lived in-doors before so is going to need time to settle in. She cannot live with young kids as she is quite nervous, she loves dogs, but is not currently house trained. She is quite a worried little love and frightened of men at present.Autumn2

Autumn is recovering well from her amputation and although is not quite ready to go to her forever home we are now taking calls about her so if you would like to know more about Autumn please give Pip a ring.

Sad News

William Today is a very sad day as a very special dog crossed over to rainbow bridge. As some of you know William was one of Pip's dogs that was also a EGLR sponsored dog. A few weeks ago we discovered he was suffering from heart failure and today he lost his fight. Pip as you can imagine is totally devastated and needs some time to get over his passing. William was a wonderful dog that although didn't enjoy the company of humans he had a very special relationship with Pip who over years won his trust and gave him a life that wouldn't have been possible anywhere else, he loved his life at Pips and was always a happy boy playing in the garden with his doggy friends. We will miss his so much.

Say Hello to Edith

Edith This very sad old girl is called Edith, she was found unable to stand and very weak, her mouth was bleeding and she had a injury on her rear end,her claws were very over grown. Edith's mouth was just rotton, her teeth were terrible and we can't imagine how she managed to eat. The vet has estimated her age at around 15 years old. Edith has now made enough improvements to move into a foster home where she is settling in, we will update you on her progress soon.

Say Hello

Brockenlegpuppy Please say a gentle hello to this very poorly little girl. She was found with a broken wrist, she has broken all 4 bones in the wrist.Brokenlegpuppy2Brockenlegpuppy1

She is only 4 months old and feeling very sorry for herself, she is going to need a lot of TLC and also a lot of vet visits. She has been in the vets for about 10 days and she will be off to a foster home in the next day or two. She will then need to go back to the vets to be checked and re-plastered every 5 days. Fingers crossed her leg will heal if not she will need to to be operated on.

Please if anyone would like to make a donation to help cover her vets bills we will be very grateful. We will keep you updated on her progress.

More Cruelty Cases

JuneCruelty JuneCruelty1We are very sad to say that we have had 2 more cruelty cases in this week, first a extremely matted male lurcher found as a stray in a terrible state. God knows what conditions he must have been living in to get his coat in this mess. It's going to be some time before he will look normal again.JuneCruelty2

The second cruelty case is this very sweet girl emaciated and feeling quite down. She has spent a week in the vets and has now moved into a foster home where she can build up her weight and strength. We cannot understand the mentality of people that allow their dogs to get into this state, but they are safe now, never to be left dirty and hungry ever again.

We will of course keep you updated as they recover and start to show their characters and let you know when they will be ready to start looking for their forever homes.JuneCruelty3

New arrivals

Heaven About 4/5 weeks ago we took in two heavily pregant lurchers, Heaven & Aris. Both have now had their pups and we currently have 17 beautiful little lurchers just finding their paws. Both Aris & Heaven are excellent mums and all their pups are doing well. Pictured here is Heaven with her pups that are now about 3 weeks old. They are clearly too young just now to leave their mums but in due course and once they start to show their own characters we will start to post details of them in our dogs to adopt section. So if you are thinking about adopting a puppy keep a look out for them as we will have some individual details on them soon.Heaven1

We are also seeing a large number of adult dogs coming in from the pounds so along with these and our new babies our supplies are starting to become stretched. We were incredibly humbeld by your generosity at our Fun Dog Show with the donations that came in of bedding and towels, puppy pads and food but would like to ask if you have any of these we would be so grateful for them or a simple donation of cash via our Paypal link is always helpful with our ever increasing vet bills.

Thank you once again for your on going help and support as without it, we would not be able to help dogs like Heaven and Aris and their puppies.
