It’s so easy to fall head over heals with our very cute and adorable little pug, Piglet but before you rush to the phone to give us a call please keep reading as Piglet is one special little dog who one day will need a very special home. When Piglet came to us she was suffering with severe rear leg weakness and wasn’t able to stand up on her own, she also has deformed little ears and a problem with her heart, none of this holds back little Piglet she is determined strong and has a personality the size of a lion. Over the time she has been with us there have been small improvements with her leg strength as she is able to hold herself up straight for very short periods and manages a few steps using all four legs, she has her own unique way of getting round that may look a bit odd to most people but it works for her. We also believe that Piglet has no idea when she needs a wee and poo as she will just pee and poo as she walks. For such a small dog she does have a big personality and will guard her food from the other dogs, but as long as this is managed carefully she can live with other dogs happily but they must not be big and bouncy to ensure she doesn’t get trod on or knocked. Piglet is waiting to see a cardiac specialist who we hope will be able to give us a better idea of what is going on with her heart but due to the lockdown this has been put on hold for now. Due to Piglets legs she cannot go for walks and with her heart she finds being carried uncomfortable so she will only require garden exercise. At the moment Piglet cannot be rehomed till she has seen the specialist and been spayed but when she does she will need a home with a grassed enclosed garden and someone home a lot of the time, we do not feel she is able to live with children but is good with other dogs. We will keep you updated on her progress and let everybody know how she is progressing.
