DEC 2020 UPDATE
We have had some good news from the specialist that fixed Sergei’s leg, they have said that it is healing well. He is now allowed some gentle exercise and time out of his crate.
Sergei is a young dog, who is full of energy and wants to run, jump, play and fly around the room so would not suit a family with young children. He has probably been used to hunt so has a very high prey drive, he will get very excited when he sees anything moving, for this reason he will need someone with experience of sight hounds and may need to be kept on a lead when out for walks. He can get quite bouncy and vocal when he sees other dogs so we are working with him to help him keep calm.
Sergei is an affectionate, loving boy who wants to snuggle up on the sofa and give you kisses. He is clean in the house and will ask to go out for the toilet. He eats well and can be left for up to one hour, any longer than this will result in crying and barking. We are working on his separation anxiety but ideally he will need someone at home most of the time. He loves his foster sister and enjoys a bit of rough and tumble.
Sergei can be a little shy when meeting humans for the first time and is not keen on walking sticks or hi viz jackets. Sergei is a lovely dog who tries his best to best to be a good boy but his enthusiasm is sometimes hard to control.
Sep 2020
Sergei arrived with us just under 6 weeks ago with a badly broken front leg which he had surgery for and some metal work inserted to keep the leg stable, this seems to be healing well and we are hoping that he will be having his x-rays really soon which will hopefully show that the leg has healed and he can go up for rehoming. Due to his broken leg he has not been fully assessed. We will pop an update on when he has had his X-rays and he is ready for rehoming.
